How to style your Airbnb for maximum return

With so much competition around its very important to stand out from the crowd.  It’s no longer enough to just have a nice location, that’s why we have compiled a list of a few things we have learnt over the years to ensure you style your AirBnB for maximum returns.

Furniture Choices

You really do need to invest in your Airbnb.  Remember it is not just a holiday home you’re putting together, it’s actually a business.  So you need to put a bit of money into it, so your space is appealing for people to want to stay there.

Have enough seating for the number of people you intend on hosting whether it’s sitting in front of a fire or around a dining table, make sure they all have space.

Look at investing in King beds if you have the space in bedrooms or even two king singles that can be used together or separated to create to individual beds for groups holidaying together, such as a ladies retreat.

Don’t forget outdoor furniture, dining set and sun beds. What makes your dream holiday? Everyone dreams of taking it easy and settling into that pile of books you have had stacked up unread all year. Where would be a dream place to relax and do that? Holidays are also the time we all come together and eat together. A large, appealing outdoor table with comfortable chairs where we can all gather and spend time is the top of everyone’s wish list.

Remember coffee tables, and side tables, with ornaments or a few books and magazines. All the details that makes a house a home.

Comfort

Add comfort with soft furnishings.  A simple rug under a coffee table can add warmth.  Cushions and throws add texture to a couch. Choose cushions with feather inserts, not only do they look better they last longer. All these items can turn a room into a haven.

Bedlinen

Ok, this is one area we feel particularly strongly about. We love bedlinen, all the beautiful doona covers that you can get- there is so much choice.  But when it comes to holiday homes, just go for your basic white hotel quality commercial linen. As boring as it is, it will outlast all the others in a commercial laundry.

Focus on buying coverlets or throws to style your AirBNB tbeds, add a nice cushion, or buy stylish European cushions.

Also, try and avoid zips and buttons, which can easily break in commercial laundries.

Lighting

Make your space feel cosy with warm white bulbs in lamps.  Make sure every bedroom has a bedside lamp.  All living areas should have some soft lighting, it just adds to the atmosphere.

Also, don’t forget the outdoor lighting.  You can invest in solar lights down a garden path, or even string up some party bulb lights over an entertaining area.  It just adds to that holiday

Be Unique

Lastly, style your place so it has something special about it..  I love the idea of having something different than every other holiday house.  It can be something as simple as a living tepee in the garden, or a cool cubby, or four-poster bed, who knows … just something a little bit unusual, It could even be a certain theme throughout the house.

This holiday house is called The Oar House, it has been styled with Old Oars throughout the house to add instant charm.
